BW Women Swimmers Fall To Transylvania (Ky.)

SARASOTA, FLORIDA – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team felll to Transylvania (Ky.) University in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet at the Sarasota YMCA.

BW fell to Transylvania, 109-71, and are now 4-6 overall amnd 1-3 in the OAC.  Transylvania is in its first year as an OAC member only in the sport of swimming and diving.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC breaststroke specialist and record-holder Angela Musille (Canton/ GlenOak) who helped the 200 medley relay team win in 2:00.85 and individually won the 50 breaststroke in 32.42 seconds and was second in the 100 IM in 1:07.98. Musille was joined on the winning relay team by freshman Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon), junior All-OAC competitor Emma Gerdes (Avon) and junior Kayla Miller (Van Wert).

In addition to swimming on the winning relay team, Ashbaugh won the 50 fly in 28.94 seconds and was third in the 100 IM in 1:08.71.

The Yellow Jackets are idle now until January 19 when they travel to Ada, Ohio to resume OAC action against Ohio Northern University in the ONU Sports Center at 1:00 p.m. The next home meet is on Saturday, January 26 versus OAC and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in the BW Natatorium in the Lou Higgins Center at 1:00 p.m.
