Women's Swimming and Diving Team Falls in Season Opener

DELAWARE, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's swimming and diving teams each opened the season tonight with a loss against non-league foe Ohio Wesleyan University inside the Branch Rickey Center.

The Battling Bishop women defeated the Yellow Jackets, 116-101.

The BW women were led by six-time NCAA Division III All-American senior diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) who won the 1-meter diving event with 262.25 points and captured the 3-meter voluntary event with 260.50 points.  Pinter's 260.50 points in the 3-meter set the school record beating her previous mark of 260.35 points

In addition to Pinter, junior Angela Musille (Canton / GlenOak) won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 109.07. The 200-yard freestyle relay team consisting of Kayla Eyster (Canton, Mich. / Plymouth-Canton), sophomore Emily Payne (Ligonier, Pa. / Ligonier Valley), junior Caitlin Wilson (Wycombe, Pa. / Council Rock North) and juniorEmily Deaton (Spanaway, Wash. / Graham-Kapowsin) won in a time of 1:54.98 but OWU won in the exhibition swim with a time of 1:51.88.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 27 when they travel to Wilmington, Ohio to open their Ohio Athletic Conference schedule against the Wilmington College Quakers in the Fred Razik Arena at 1:00 p.m.
