Scheider Joins Swimming and Diving Coaching Staff

BEREA, OHIO --  Baldwin Wallace University Head Swimming & Diving Coach Laura Wolff has announced the addition of Bryan Scheider to her 2012-2013 Yellow Jacket coaching staff.

"We welcome Bryan to our athletics family at Baldwin Wallace University," said BW Director of Athletics Kris A. Diaz. "He will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge and experience to our swimming & diving program. Bryan will be valuable asset to Head Coach Laura Wolff and our student-athletes. We look forward to working with him."

"Bryan is going to bring passion and energy to the our swimming and diving program," said Wolff, who enters her first season as a full-time head coach at BW after serving as the interim coach a year ago. "Bryan has a proven record of success both at the high school and club levels, and I am excited and looking forward to working with him."

Scheider came to the University after spending the last five years as the head swimming and diving coach at Kenston High School in Bainbridge Township, Ohio. During his final two seasons,Scheider coached five state qualifiers each season.   In addition, Scheider was a swim coach at the Euclid Marlins Swim Club during the 2003-04 school year and from 2008 through the present time. He additionally has served as an Assistant Aquatics Director during the summers for the City of Willowick Recreation Department from 1996 through the present time.

Scheider earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cleveland State University in 2003 and then went on to earn a Master of Education and Sport Management degree from CSU in 2008. He is certified to coach by the NFHSC (National Federation of High School Coaches) and is a member of USA Swimming, the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) and the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA).

The Yellow Jacket swimming & diving team has their first meet on Friday, October 26, 2012 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to compete against Ohio Wesleyan University in a dual meet. The home opener is on Saturday, November 10 when BW hosts the third round of the Cleveland City Duals in the BW Natatorium in The Lou Higgins Center in Berea at 1:00 p.m.
