BW Swimming & Diving Teams Swept in a Dual Meet at Washington & Jefferson (Pa.)

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University swimming and diving teams each lost to host Washington & Jefferson College today (Saturday, November 13, 2010) in a dual meet in Washington, Pennsylvania.

The BW men lost, 138-99, to drop to 2-2-1 this season, and the Yellow Jacket women lost, 115-84, and are now 1-4 overall.  The teams are back in action next Friday, Nov. 19 when they host Ohio Athletic Conference rival the University of Mount Union for a dual meet in Berea at 6:00 p.m.

The Yellow Jacket women were led by sophomore two-time NCAA Division III All-American diver Julie Pinter (Broadview Heights/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) placing first in both the one meter and three meter diving competions posting scores of 216.90 and 219.00, respectively.

In addition, junior Nicole Dennis (Northfield/ Nordonia) finished first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 2:26.68, while freshman Angela Musille (Canton/Glen Oak) earned first place in the 200 yard breaststroke in a time of 2:41.80 for the Jackets. Also, the 200 yard freestyle team of sophmores Kelsey Richards (Wadsworth), Gabby Parker (Girard, Pa./Villa Maria Academy), freshman Kayla Miller (Van Wert), and senior Lauren Schaefer (Westlake) took first place with a time of 1:48.11.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by triple event winner freshman Patrick Donohoe (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) and double winner senior Ryan Musille (Canton/Glen Oak). Both contributed in the winning 200 yard medley team with freshman Elier Diaz (El Paso, Texas/Americas) and junior Nic Null (Shelby/ Mansfield St. Peter's) with a team time of 1:43.21. Donohoe individually won the 200 yard individual medley in 2:07.00 and the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:07.27. Musille added an individual victory of his own in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.57 seconds. In addition, senior Mike Diamond (Ashtabula/ Lakeside) won the men's 200 yard breaststroke, posting a time of 2:29.28.

Following its meet against Mount Union next Friday, the Yellow Jackets travel to Springfield, Ohio to swim in a tri-meet with host Wittenberg University and visiting Oberlin College at the Wittenberg HPE Center.
