Baldwin Wallace Swimming & Diving Teams Swept by Wheeling Jesuit (W. Va.) To Open 2010-11 Season

BEREA, OHIO - The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's swimming and diving teams each opened the 2010-11 season with a loss to host Wheeling Jesuit University today (Saturday, October 16, 2010) in Wheeling, West Virginia. The men lost, 104-93, and the women fell, 112-85.

The Yellow Jacket men had two individual winners and the women had one winner. For the men, senior team captain Ryan Musille (Canton/ GlenOak) won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.88 seconds and freshman Elier Diaz (El Paso, Texas/ Americas) won the 100-yard backstroke in 58.82 seconds. For the women, freshman Emma Gerdes (Avon) won the 100 back in 1:03.93.

The Yellow Jackets next compete on Saturday, October 30 when they travel to Wilmington, Ohio to open the Ohio Athletic Conference schedule against Wilmington College.  The first home meet is on Saturday, November 6 when BW hosts Penn State-Behrend in the BW Natatorium at 1:00 p.m.
