WILMINGTON, OH – The Baldwin Wallace Women's soccer team extended their win streak to four when they defeated Wilmington College in an Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 2-1 on Townsend Field inside Williams Stadium.

The match was a battle from the start as both teams came out with intensity. After 15 minutes of back and forth play, and multiple shots from both teams, a penalty kick was called for BW (9-8, 4-3 OAC). Sophomore forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) took the kick and scored to put the Yellow Jackets in the lead. BW's defense held off the Quakers for the remainder of the half.

Wilmington (5-9-2, 2-4-1 OAC) came out fast in the second half, immediately scoring to tie up the match. The Yellow Jackets fought back, as they looked for their second goal. They took a total of 16 shots throughout the half, all unsuccessful until the 81st minute when Rice slid the ball past the Quaker's goalie to regain the lead for BW. The match ended 2-1 with a victory for the Yellow Jackets.

In the net for the BW was freshman goalie Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) who saved six shots on the total seven shots she faced.

BW is back in action on Wednesday, October 27 when it hosts an OAC match against the University of Mount Union at 7 P.M. on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
