Columbus, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team fell to Capital University in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener by a final score of 3-0 on Purmort Field inside Bernlohr Stadium.

BW (5-5, 0-1 OAC) battled to get the first point on the board with three shots at the beginning of the half, but Capital (2-6-1, 1-0 OAC) scored first at the 18 minute mark off a goal from junior All-OAC Avery Hart. The Yellow Jackets fought to catch up, but Capital was able to extend their lead ten minutes later with a second goal from senior All-OAC forward Olivia Rotolo. The half ended 2-0.

The Yellow Jackets came out hard in the second half, getting a shot off in the first few minutes of the match. However, Capital was able to score a third goal at the 52 minute mark by freshman forward Grace Estes. BW worked to catch up, totaling ten shots for the match but were unable to place any in the net. The remainder of the game went scoreless and ended 3-0 in favor of Capital.

In the net for the Yellow Jackets was freshman goalie Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) who recorded five saves on the total eight shots she faced.

BW returns to the pitch on Wednesday, October 6 when they travel to Ada, Ohio to face OAC opponent Ohio Northern University at 4:00 P.M. inside Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.
