Six Women Soccer Student-Athletes Honored by Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association

BEREA, Ohio - Six Baldwin Wallace University women soccer players have been honored by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) for their work on the field and in the classroom.

Sophomore All-OAC forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) was named to the OCSA All-Ohio first team. Additionally, senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC defender Amanda Donahue (Cincinnati/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy), senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC midfielder Maddie Farrell (Macomb, Mich./Dakota), senior Academic All-OAC defender Aundrea Scattino (Girard/Niles McKinley), senior Academic All-OAC forward Michelina Rush (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC midfielder Brandi Filippi (Pickerington/Nor) were all named to the Academic All-Ohio teams. Donahue and Farrell were both named to the first team. Fillippi, Rush and Scattino earned second team honors.

Rice, who earns her first OCSA All-Ohio honors, recently earned her first All-OAC honor and was named to the United Soccer Coaches Association All-Region VII team for the first time. The sophomore forward posted career-highs and in goals, assists, and points. Rice led the OAC with 18 goals, including five game winners, she added two assists for a total of 38 points, which tied her for first in the OAC. This season she appeared in 18 games and made 17 starts. The accounting major earned her first varsity letter this fall. 

Donahue, who earns her first OCSA Academic All-Ohio recognition, is a three-time Academic All-OAC selection, and a public health major who carries a 3.92 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honoraries. In her career, she appeared in 63 games and made 40 starts. Donahue is a two-time All-OAC defender who earned her fourth varsity letter this fall. 

Farrell, who earns her first OCSA Academic All-Ohio honor, is a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree, and an accounting and finance double major carries a 3.754 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. In her career, Farrell is an All-OAC midfielder who earned OCSA All-Ohio third team honors in 2019. She appeared in 57 games and made 43 starts and scored nine goals, including three game-winners for 18 points. Farrell earned her fourth varsity letter this fall. 

Rush, who earns her first OCSA Academic All-Ohio selection, is a three-time Academic All-OAC performer, and a biology and chemistry double major that carries a 3.661 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. In her career, Rush is a forward that appeared in 44 games and made 10 starts with five goals and a assist for 11 total points. She earned her fourth varsity letter this fall. 

Scattino, who earns her first OCSA Academic All-OAC recognition, is a three-time Academic All-OAC performer, and a pre-allied health and pre-physical therapy double major that carries a 3.682 GPA. She is a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. In her career, Scattino is a defender that appeared in 67 games and made 51 starts. She tallied one assist for one point. She was named to the 2021 Fall OAC All-Tournament team and was named Team Newcomer of the Year in 2018. Scattinoearned her fourth varsity letter this fall. 

Fillippi, who earns her first OCSA Academic All-OAC honor, is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, and a public health major that carries a 3.612 GPA. She is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. In her career, Fillippi is an All-OAC midfielder that has appeared in 48 games and made 31 starts. She has scored six goals, including one game winner and added two assists for 14 total points. She was named Team Newcomer of the Year in 2019. Fillippi earned her third varsity letter this fall.

BW finished the season with an 11-10 record and a 5-5 mark in the OAC.
