Three Women’s Soccer Student Athletes Attain All-OAC Honors

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Three Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer player have been voted to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference team for the 2021 fall season.

Sophomore forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) was voted to the first team. Junior midfielder Brandi Filippi (Pickerington/North) was selected to the second team. Senior defender Amanda Donahue (Morrow/Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) was tabbed to the third team.

Rice gets first team honors after a season in which she led the OAC and Yellow Jackets in goals with 18. Those 18 goals make her fourth all time in goals scored in a season at BW. She also added a team high two assists which ties her for the OAC lead in points with 38. Her four goals in the OAC quarterfinal against Mount Union, also earned her OAC All-Tournament honors. Rice will earn her first varsity letter this fall.

Filippi earns her first All-OAC honors after a career best tying season in which she appeared and started all 21 games. She tied her career-best in goals, assists and points. This season she was tied for second on the team with three goals, one assist, and seven points. One of her goals was also a game-winning goal.  The junior was part of a group that controlled the midfield for the Yellow Jackets. The Academic All-OAC performer will earn her third varsity letter this fall.

Donahue earns All-OAC honors for the second straight season. Donahue anchored the back line for BW this season. She appeared in and started all 21 games. Donahue completes her four-year career as a Yellow Jacket after appearing in 63 games with 40 starts. Off the field, she is a two-time Academic All-OAC performer, a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

BW finished the 2021 Fall season with a 11-10 overall record and a 5-4 mark in the OAC, advancing to the OAC Tournament for the ninth consecutive season.
