BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team shut out crosstown rival John Carroll University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 2-0 on the Tressel Field in the George Finnie Stadium.

BW (8-8, 3-3 OAC) got the offense started with a shot three minutes. However, both teams were not able to finish on any of their chances. The best chances of the half were taken by the Yellow Jackets. Sophomore forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) just missed an opportunity early in the half. It wasn't until the 40-minute mark that BW was able to break through the John Carroll goalkeeper (6-9-1, 1-5 OAC). The Yellow Jackets had great passing which opened the chance for sophomore forward Bailey Hall (Lewis Center/Olentangy) who scored off the assist from Rice. BW carried the 1-0 lead into the half.

The Yellow Jackets opened the second half just as hot. Just a minute into the half, freshman attacker Natalie Stewart (Blacklick/Gahanna Lincoln) scored off the rebound to increase the BW lead to 2-0. The Yellow Jackets got plenty of great looks throughout the half. However, the chances just didn't the back of the net. The Blue Streaks got their best look of the night near the end of the half, but freshman goalkeeper Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) was right there to send it away. The Yellow Jackets walked away with a 2-0 victory.

In the net for BW was Scott who made seven saves on the seven shots she faced and earned her second shutout of the season.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, October 23 when they travel to Wilmington to take on Wilmington College in an OAC game on the Townsend Field in the Williams Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
