TIFFIN, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team defeated Heidelberg University in an Ohio Athletic Conference match by a final score of 2-0 inside the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.

BW (6-8, 1-3 OAC) kicked off the first half strong with a goal from freshman forward Natalie Stewart (Blacklick/Gahanna Lincoln) less than five minutes from the start. Heidelberg (8-4, 1-4 OAC) fought back but the Yellow Jacket defense held strong. The half ended 1-0, with BW outshooting the Student Prince's 8-1.

The Yellow Jackets came out fast in the second half, looking to extend their lead. Sophomore forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) was able to do just that, with a shot from just outside the box at the 56 minute mark. Heidelberg worked to catch up, tallying ten shots for the half but none were successful. The match ended 2-0 in favor of BW.

In the net for the Yellow Jackets was junior goalkeeper Maddie Hofmann (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) who made all five of the saves that she faced.

BW returns to the pitch on Saturday, October 16 at home for seniors' day. They will face OAC opponent Muskingum University on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium at 2:00 PM.
