No. 9 Wrestling Team Finishes Fourth at Spartan Mat Classic

MANCHESTER, Ind. – Select members of the No. 9-nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team finished fourth at the Spartan Mat Classic hosted by Manchester (Ind.) in the Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.

BW finished fourth with 99 points. Wabash (Indiana) College won the invitational with 201.5 points.

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Andrew Sierawski (Delware/Hayes) as he won the 285-pound individual title with three pins and a 4-0 record. Freshman 125-pounder Nicholas Berry (Dayton/Carroll) and freshman 133-pounder Dante Ginnetti (Poland/Seminary) each placed second in their respective weight classes.  Berry finished with a 4-1 record and Ginnetti went 3-1.

In addition, sophomore 184-pounder Christopher Head (Massillon/Jackson), sophomore 157-pounder Benjamin Hooff (Worthington/Thomas-Worthington) and senior 285-pounder Tyler Keating (Fairview Park) each placed in their respective weight classes. Head finished fourth with a 4-2 record, Hoof placed seventh with a 5-2 record and Keating finished seventh with a 4-2 record.

BW is back in action on Friday, January 20 when it travels to Greenville, Pennsylvania for the Mel Berry Duals hosted by Thiel College. The Yellow Jackets square off against NJCAA Mercyhurst North at 4:30 p.m. and face Thiel at 6 p.m.
