SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference rival the University of Mount Union today (Monday, March 7) in a dual match at Longleaf Golf & Country Club on the team's spring trip to Pinehurst, North Carolina.
The Yellow Jackets carded a total of 363 strokes to defeat Mount Union, who did not record a team score after one of their four golfers withdrew.
The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman Rebecca Jones (Hilliard/Darby) who fired an 86 to place second overall individually. Jones was followed by freshman Emilee Woolf (Ravenna) with an 89, freshman Miranda Cunningham (Dayton/Dayton Christian) with a 93, sophomore Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) with a 95 and senior Nicole Carlone (Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) with a 106.
Playing as individuals, sophomore Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) turned in final score of 96, freshman Sarah Allred (Akron/ Green) shot a 97 and sophomore Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/ Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) shot 108.
Mount Union's Mary Snode claimed medalist honors with an 84.
BW returns to action up north on March 26-27 when they play in the Mount Union Spring Invitational at Tannenhauf G.C. in Alliance.
