Vaillant of No. 12 Women’s Basketball Earns First Career OAC Player of the Week Honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The sophomore forward Bella Vaillant (Perrysburg) of the No. 12 nationally ranked women's basketball team was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the first time in her career. The award is presented by Midstream Lighting.

Vaillant helped BW start the 2022-23 season 1-0, upsetting No. 2 nationally ranked Trine (Ind.) University in double overtime by a 75-70 final score. Vaillant led the team and all players with 21 points and 11 rebounds, notching a career-high, and added one assist.

In her career, Vaillant has tallied 79 points, 48 rebounds, nine steals, five assists, and three blocks. Vaillant's previous career-high was 11 points and four rebounds against Muskingum University on February 22, 2022 in the OAC Tournament Quarterfinals.

After the opening week of play, Vaillant leads the OAC in points per game and is third in rebounds per game.

The Yellow Jackets return to play Monday, November 14 as they host Case Western Reserve University for a non-conference contest. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
