Women’s Basketball Releases 2022-23 Schedule

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team has released its 2022-23 schedule. Head Coach Cheri Harrer will begin her 33rd season and look to carry on the success of last year's campaign and those seasons preceding.

The Yellow Jackets will open the 2022-23 season hosting a tough non-conference matchup in Trine (Ind.) University (Friday, November 11), who advanced to the 2021-22 NCAA Division III National Semifinals. BW will follow that up with another home non-conference showdown against Case Western University on Monday, November 14 in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.

BW will be on the road for three consecutive games, taking on Wittenberg University on Nov. 18, Hanover (Ind.) College on Nov. 19, and La Roche (Pa.) University on Nov. 22 before the 2022 Ohio Athletic Conference Opener. The OAC has announced that conference Saturdays will again be men's and women's doubleheaders, this year with the men first and women to follow. The Yellow Jackets will be on the road to face the Heidelberg University Student Princes on Wednesday, November 30 for the OAC opener.

The Yellow Jackets will take on Wilmington College on Saturday, December 3 for the second game of a men's and women's doubleheader before returning home for the OAC home opener against the Marietta College Pioneers on Saturday, December 10, again for the second game of the day. 

For the first time since 2016, BW will host a two-day Holiday Tournament over Thursday, December 29 and Friday, December 30. The Yellow Jackets will take on Manchester (Ind.) University on the 29th before the bracketed format will determine the opponent(s) on the 30th. Also on the 29th, the game against Manchester will be part of a men's and women's tripleheader with the men facing Trine at 2:00 p.m., the women at 4:00 p.m., and Rochester Institute of Technology (N.Y.) and Hamilton (N.Y.) College tipping off at 6:00 p.m.

The New Year will kick off with the Yellow Jackets jumping right back into conference play, traveling to the University of Mount Union on Wednesday, January 4.

BW will travel to Muskingum University on Jan. 7, travel to Ohio Northern University on Jan. 11, host Capital University on Jan. 14, and host John Carroll University on Jan. 18 to close out the first half of OAC play. 

The second half of conference competition will start on the road at Wilmington and close with two away showdowns at crosstown rival JCU on Wednesday, Feb. 15 and at Capital on Saturday, Feb. 18.

BW finished last season with a 23-5 overall record and were 15-2 in the OAC, claiming a share of the regular season title and were the OAC Tournament Champions. Making it to the "Sweet Sixteen", the Yellow Jackets became the all-time leader in the OAC in NCAA National Tournament appearances (16) along with leading the OAC in regular season and tournament titles with 10.
