BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball Head Coach Cheri Harrer has announced the addition of Steven Oliver as a graduate assistant coach.

"I am truly blessed to join Coach Harrer and her program here at BW," Coach Oliver commented. "The program is first class, and I am looking forward to working with and learning from Coach Harrer and Coach Hartzler. They have a winning formula and I'm eager for things to get started."

Oliver comes to BW after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management at Geneva College. During his time at Geneva, he served as a student assistant coach for the men's basketball program for three years. Oliver helped with operations, scouting reports, video and graphic production, and strength and conditioning for the Geneva men's basketball program.

"We are really excited to add Coach Oliver to our staff," Coach Harrer said. "Although young, he still brings a wealth of experience in coaching from being a student coach as well as working with one of the top AAU clubs in Pennsylvania and working with high level coaches there. We look forward to him helping us in a myriad of ways on and off the court."

For the last three years Oliver was a Lead Youth Instructor at the Beaver County YMCA in Pennsylvania, planning, organizing, and leading large group activities and youth basketball leagues. Oliver would also handle program inventory and supervise staff.

In addition, Oliver has coached at Drill for Skill AAU and Next Generation Sports and Recreation for multiple age groups and has helped coach many camps and clinics.

The Yellow Jackets open the season on Friday, November 11 as they host Trine (Ind.) University for a big non-conference showdown. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m. against the Thunder in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
