BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team begins the 2022-23 season with a No. 12 ranking in the D3hoops.com and No. 15 ranking in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top-25 Preseason national polls.

Under the direction of veteran Head Coach Cheri Harrer, the Yellow Jackets total 285 votes in the D3hoops.com poll and 90 points in the WBCA poll.

BW, who ended the historic 2021-22 season with an overall record of 23-5 and a 15-2 mark in the Ohio Athletic Conference, hopes to continue its success with their large returning roster. The Yellow Jackets return 14 letterwinners, one All-OAC player, and four Academic All-OAC performers.

The Yellow Jackets claimed a share of the regular season championship title and won the OAC Tournament last season, dropping just two games in conference play. BW became the leader in the OAC with the most regular season and tournament titles (10) and the leader in the most trips to the NCAA tournament (16), surging to the "Sweet 16".

The Yellow Jackets are accompanied by two other OAC schools in the two polls as Marietta College totals 153 points and is slated at No. 19 in the D3hoops.com poll and John Carroll University is tied for the No. 22 spot on the WBCA poll with 41 points.

BW opens the season on Friday, November 11 when it plays their home opener against Trine (Ind.) University in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 6:00 p.m.
