Women’s Basketball Selected to Finish Second in OAC Preseason Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The No. 12 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball team was picked to finish second in the annual Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Poll. 

Following a 2021-22 season where the Yellow Jackets finished 23-5 overall and surged to the NCAA "Sweet 16", BW was selected for a second-place finish heading into this year's season with 75 total points and three first-place votes. Marietta College was selected for the No. 1 spot in the poll, tallying 79 points and seven first-place votes.

Just behind BW with 62 votes is Otterbein University in the third spot. Ohio Northern University is slated in the fourth-place spot with 53 votes, John Carroll University in fifth place with 49 votes, and ranked in the sixth spot is University of Mount Union with 40 total votes.

The Yellow Jackets are led by Head Coach Cheri Harrer who returns for her 33rd year and is welcoming back 14 letterwinners, one All-OAC player, and four Academic All-OAC performers to this year's squad.

BW opens the season on Friday, November 11 when it plays their home opener against No. 2 nationally-ranked Trine (Ind.) University in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 6:00 p.m.
