BEREA, OHIO -- Junior designated player and pitcher Tabitha Murray (Mogadore/ Field) and junior outfielder and pitcher Nikki Peskura (Strongsville) have been selected as All-Ohio Athletic Conference softball players.  Murray was tabbed as a first-team selection and Peskura as honorable mention.

Murray, who was the OAC Rookie-of-the-Year and a first-team selection in 2011, led the Yellow Jackets in hitting and was the ace of the pitching staff.  She batted a team and career-best .475 with career-highs in hits (58), homeruns (9) and runs batted-in with 33 and had 13 doubles and two stolen bases.  On the mound, Murray had a career-best 17 wins (17-10) with a 2.54 earned run average and career-highs in shutouts (6) and strikeouts (173) as opponents only had a .220 batting average against her.

On March 13, the three-year letter winner became the first pitcher at any level of softball to hurl back-to-back perfect games as BW defeated Sul Ross (Texas) University, 8-0 in six innings, and Edgewood (Wis.), 10-0 in five innings on its spring break trip to Tucson, Arizona. She earned OAC and NFCA (National Fast-Pitch Coaches Association) Player of the Week honors for her efforts.

For her career, Murray is hitting .410 with 32 doubles, one triple, 18 homeruns, 80 RBI and 18 stoles bases.  She has a 30-18 career pitching mark with nine shutouts, two perfect games and 289 strikeouts.

Peskura earns her first All-OAC nod after transferring from the University of Findlay after her freshman season.  She had her best season as a Yellow Jacket as she was called on to play the outfield, pitch and serve as the designated player. Peskura batted a career-best .300 with career-highs in hits (30), doubles (4) RBI (10) and stolen bases (2).  On the mound, she posted a record of 2-7 with a 4.88 ERA and 28 strikeouts.

The Yellow Jackets finished the season with a 20-18 overall record. BW will lose just two seniors and returns eight of 10 starters in 2014.
