Tabitha Murray Named NFCA National Player of the Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference pitcher Tabitha Murray (Mogadore/ Field) was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III National Player of the Week after hurling back-to-back perfect games during the Yellow Jackets' spring break trip to Tucson, Arizona.  The honor comes a day after Murray was named OAC pitcher of the week.

Murray authored the NCAA's first back-to-back perfect games by blanking Sul Ross State (Texas) University, 8-0 in six innings, and Edgewood (Wis.) College, 10-0 in five innings, at the Tucson Invitational Games.  Murray retired 34 straight batters and pitched to a 6-3 record with a 1.28 earned run average while striking out 14 batters over 49 and one-third innings pitched.

She also batted .483 (14-for-29) with eight runs batted-in, five runs scored, and five doubles.

The Yellow Jacket softball team, 7-3 overall, opens OAC play Saturday, March 23 against Otterbein University at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds.
