BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Mitch Supan competed in four seasons of indoor and outdoor track and field at Baldwin Wallace University and earned four varsity letters and is one of the best male throwers in Division III. He was a three-time NCAA Division III All-American and one of the best to ever compete at the University.

Mitch was the 2012-2013 Outstanding Senior Male Athlete, a three-time NCAA Division III All-American, a three-time school record-holder (indoors in the 35-pound weight throw and outdoors in the shot put and discus),  the Paul "Sparky" Adams Most Outstanding Field Athlete Award winner at the 2011-2012 OAC Outdoor Championship Meet, a seven-time OAC Male Field Athlete of the Week honoree (three times indoors and three times outdoors), a team captain and campus leader.

2012-2013 OUTSTANDING SENIOR MALE ATHLETE AWARD:  Mitch was selected as the 2012-2013 Kenneth Steingass/ Most Outstanding Senior Male Athlete Award winner.

DIVISION III All-AMERICA HONORS: As a freshman in 2009-2010, Mitch placed eighth in the hammer event at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship Meet at B-W to earn All-America honors. As a sophomore in 2010-2011, he earned his second All-America award with a fourth place finish in the hammer at the 2011 Div. III Outdoor Championship Meet at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. As a junior in 2011-2012, Mitch placed eighth in the discus at the 2012 Div. III Outdoor Championship Meet at Claremont Mudd-Scripps in Calremont, California to become a three-time All-American.

SCHOOL RECORD-HOLDER:   Mitch set a BW school indoor record in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 63-feet and 8.75 inches and outdoor school marks in the shot put at 56'6.75" and discus at 180'9".  His career-best throw in the hammer of 198'1" ranks second all-time.

GENERAL INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD INFORMATION: Mitch has been named Male Field Athlete of the Week three times indoors:  as a sophomore for his efforts at the All-Ohio Meet; as a junior for his efforts at the OAC Split Squad Meet; and as a senior for his efforts at the BW Mid-January Meet (Jan. 18).

As a freshman in 2009-2010, Mitch competed in his first season of indoor track and field. He posted season-bests of 46-feet and four-inches (46'4") in the shot put and 47'3" in the 35-pound weight throw.

As a sophomore in 2010-2011, Mitch competed in his second season of indoor track. On February 14, he was named as the OAC Male Field Event Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the All-Ohio Meet at Kenyon.  He was a provisional qualifier to the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship Meet in the weight throw, but did not make the final NCAA meet cut. At the 2011 OAC Championship Meet, Mitch placed second in the weight throw (56'6.75"). He had season-bests of 51'3" in the shot put and 57'9.75" in the weight throw.

As a junior in 2011-2012, Mitch competed in his third season of indoor track. He was tabbed as the OAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week on January 30 for his efforts in the OAC Split Squad Meet on Jan. 27 in Berea when he won the shot put and weight throw. At the 2012 OAC Indoor Championship Meet, Mitch was the OAC champion in weight throw (58'4.5") and placed fourth in the shot put (52'10.75").

As a senior in 2012-2013, Mitch competed in his fourth year of indoor track and field. He earned the OAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week award for his efforts at the BW Mid-January Meet when he won both the shot put and weight throw. He set a school-record in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 63'8.87" and had a season-best of 54'7.5" in the shot put. 

GENERAL OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD INFORMATION: Mitch had a solid outdoor track and field career and was one of the best ever to compete in the throws at the University. In addition to being a three-time Division III All-American, he was the Paul "Sparky" Adams Most Outstanding Field Athlete Award winner at the 2011-2012 OAC Outdoor Championship Meet, earned OAC Male Field Athlete of the Week honors four times during his career for a total of seven overall (three times indoors) and set University marks in both the shot put (56'6.75") and discus (180'9").

As a freshman in 2010-2011, Mitch competed in his first season of outdoor track and earned his first varsity letter. He finished fourth at the OAC Outdoor Meet in the discus (155'0"). He also qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet in the discus with a throw of 170'2" at the Allegheny "Gator" Invite. At the 2010 NCAA DIII Championships, Mitch placed eighth in the discus with a throw of 163'5" and earned Division III All-America status.

As a sophomore in 2010-2011, Mitch competed in his second season of outdoor track and earned his second letter. He won the discus at the 2011 OAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a throw of 174'8". At the 2011 Div. III Outdoor Championship Meet at Ohio Wesleyan, Mitch finished fourth and earned his second Div. III All-America award with a throw of 168' 3". He also placed 17th in the shot-put (50'8.75").

As a junior in 2011-2012, Mitch competed in his third season of outdoor track and earned his third letter. He placed first in both the discus (170'5") and hammer (179'6") throws at the OAC Championships and was second in the shot put (56' 3.75") to earn the "Sparky" Adams Most Outstanding Field Athlete Award. Mitch qualified for the NCAA Division III National Meet in the discus (172'8"), hammer (187'3") and shot put (56'3.75"). He earned his third Div. III All-American award with an eighth place finish in the discus with a throw of 171'3". He also placed 15th in the hammer (180'2") and 14th in the shot put (52'7.25"). Mitch also earned OAC Male Field Athlete of the Week honors on April 2.

As a senior in 2012-2013, Mitch competed in his fourth season of track and earned his fourth letter. He was named as the OAC Field Athlete of the Week three times (March 19, April 1 and April 18). He helped BW to a second place finish at the All-Ohio Meet and set school records with career-best throws of 56'6.75" in the shot put and 180'9" in the discus and had a career-best throw of 198'1" in the hammer (second all-time at BW).

HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Mitch Supan grew up in Medina, Ohio and graduated from Walsh Jesuit High School (in Cuyahoga Falls). He played four years of football and earned two varsity letters.  He also participated in track for four years and earned three letters.

In football, Mitch had 35 tackles in four games (due to injury) and earned honorable mention All-District honors as a junior.

In track, Mitch served as a team captain and was a Regional qualifier in the shot put and discus. His personal-bests were 48'9" in the shot put and 165'0" in the discus.

Academically, Mitch graduated from Walsh Jesuit H.S. with Honors.
