BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Alex Furhmann will play his second season of cross country and track at Baldwin Wallace University in 2013-2014. He has earned one varsity letter in each and looks to return as an important contributor in each sport in his sophomore season.

GENERAL CROSS COUNTRY INFORMATION:  Alex enters his sophomore season as one of six returning second-year runners looking to improve on the Yellow Jackets 31-53 record last season. Look for Alex to also improve on his personal-best marks and earn his second varsity letter.

As a freshman in 2012-2013, Alex competed in his first season of cross country and earned his first varsity letter. He ran his best 8K race at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble where he finished 234th out of 275 total runners with a time of 28:24.30. Alex also competed at the season-ending Ohio Athletic Conference Championships where he finished 120th out of 147 total runners when he finished in a mark of 29:50.2.

As a sophomore in 2013-2014, Alex will look to compete in his second season of cross country and will look to earn his second varsity letter.

GENERAL INDOOR TRACK INFORMATION:  Alex enters his sophomore season competing in distance and relay races. He has helped the Yellow Jackets compile a 37-12-1 record in his time in the Brown and Gold.

As a freshman in 2012-2013, Alex competed in his first season of indoor track and field and earned his first varsity letter. He ran a season-best in the 800-meter run (2:18.28) at the Greater Cleveland College Championship and was also on the 4x400-meter relay team (3:44.38) at the Fighting Scots Invitational.

As a sophomore in 2013-2014, Alex will look to compete in his second season of track and field and will look to earn his second varsity letter.

GENERAL OUTDOOR TRACK INFORMATION:  Alex enters his sophomore season competing in distance races. He has helped the Yellow Jackets compile a record of 32-4 in his first season at BW.

As a freshman in 2012-2013, Alex competed in his first season of outdoor track and field and earned his first varsity letter. He set a personal-best in the 800-meter run (2:11.35) at the Coastal Carolina (SC) Meet during Spring Break. Alex also competed in the 5000-meter run (17:36.90) at the Charlotte (N.C.) 49er Classic.

As a sophomore in 2013-2014, Alex will look to compete in his second season of track and field and will look to earn his second varsity letter.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Alex grew up in Painesville, Ohio and graduated from Painesville Riverside High School. He competed in three years of cross country and earned three varsity letters. Alex also ran track for four years and earned four varsity letters.
