BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:  Shawn Cordes will play in his fourth season of track at Baldwin Wallace University in 2013-2014. He has earned three varsity letters and was a member of the OAC Champion and NCAA Division III National Tournament qualifying 4x100-meter relay team as a sophomore.

ATHLETIC HONORS:  As a sophomore, Shawn was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team that finished eighth at the NCAA Division III Championship meet to earn All-American accolades.

GENERAL INDOOR TRACK INFORMATION:  Shawn enters his senior season competing in sprints and relays. He has helped the Yellow Jackets compile a 115-23-1 record in his time in the Brown and Gold.

As a freshman in 2010-2011, Shawn competed in his first season of indoor track.  He had a team and career-bests of 22.93 second in the 200-meter dash and a career best of 6.64 seconds in the 55-meter dash.

As a sophomore in 2011-2012, Shawn competed in his second season of indoor track. He competed in the 55-meter dash, the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. In the 55-meter dash, he ran a season-best time of 6.68 seconds at the B-W Mid-January Meet. In the 60-meter dash, he ran a career-best 7.26 seconds at the Fighting Scots Invitational. In the 200-meter dash, Shawn's season-best came at the OAC Noth Split with a time of 23.14 seconds.

As a junior in 2012-2013, Shawn competed in his third season of indoor track and field.  He was on the BW's best 4x200-meter relay team, which ran a time of 1:31.26 at the Fighting Scots Invitational.  Shawn also ran the second-best record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.28 seconds also at the Fightng Scots Invitational.  His season-best 55-meter dash and 200-meter dash times were set when he crossed the end line at a mark of 6.76 seconds and 24.01 seconds, respectively.

As a senior in 2013-2014, Shawn will look to compete in his fourth season of track and field, while looking to obtain his fourth varsity letter.

GENERAL OUTDOOR TRACK INFORMATION:  Shawn enters his senior season competing in sprints and relays. He received All-American accolades as a sophomore competing on the 4x100-meter relay team. Shawn has helped the Yellow Jackets compile a 111-13 record in his time in the Brown and Gold.

As a freshman in 2010-2011, Shawn competed in his first outdoor track season and had team-leading and personal-best times of 11.05 seconds in the 100-meter dash at the OAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships where he placed fifth and 22.45 seconds in the 200-meter dash at the Marv Frye Invitational 2011 event where he finished in third.

As a sophomore in 2011-2012, Shawn is participating in his second year of outdoor track and will earn his second varsity letter.  At the Marv Frye Invatational, Shawn ran his season-best times in both the 100-meter dash, with a time of 11.16 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a mark of 22.57 seconds.  Shawn is also a member of the OAC Champion and NCAA Division III National Tournament qualifying 4x100-meter relay team that posted a time of 41.57 seconds, which is thirteenth in the nation.  At the NCAA Division III National Tournament, Shawn and the 4x100-meter relay team finished eighth in a time of 41.46 seconds to earn All-American accolades.

As a junior in 2012-2013, Shawn competed in his third season of outdoor track and field.  He is on the 4x100-meter relay team that holds the best record for the season at BW with a time of 42.38 seconds when they competed at the Charlotte 49er Classic. Shawn's season-best time in the 100-meter dash came when he crossed the finish line in a time of 11.31 seconds.  His season-best time in the 200-meter dash came as he ended the race in 22.80 seconds.

As a senior in 2013-14, Shawn will look to compete in his fourth season of track and field and will look to earn his fourth varsity letter.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:  Shawn grew up in Litchfield, Ohio and graduated from Buckeye High School in Medina, Ohio. He competed in both football and track and earned three letters in each.

In track, Shawn was named All-Conference, All-County, and All-Ohio. He was a regional and state qualifier.

Academically, Shawn earned the Top Scholar Award.
