BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: As a senior in 2013, Jake competed in his fourth season of track and field and earned his fourth varsity letter. Jake also competed on the junior varsity football team as a freshman in 2009.

GENERAL INDOOR TRACK INFORMATION:   As a freshman in 2009-10, Jake competed in his first season of indoor track.  He competed in the shot put and 35-pound weight throw. He had season-bests of 40'11.5" in the shot put and 38'4.25" in the weight throw.

    As a sophomore in 2010-11, Jake  competed in his second season of indoor track.  He again is throwing the shot put and 35-pound weight. He recorded a season and career-bests of 46'6" in the weight throw and 42'10.25" in the shotput.

    As a junior in 2011-2012, Jake competed in his third season of track and field. He had a big jump in the weight with nearly a six foot personal since last season with a mark of 51'9.25".

    As a senior in 2012-13, Jake competed in his fourth season of indoor track and field.  He finished with a record second-best on the team in the weight throw with a distance of 53' 8.25."  Jake finished his career at BW with four varsity letters in outdoor track and field.

GENERAL OUTDOOR TRACK INFORMATION:  As a freshman in 2009-2010, Jake competed in his first season of outdoor track and earned his first varsity letter.  He established personal-bests in the shot put with a toss of 39'9.25" at the OAC Gold Meet, in the discus with a throw of 120'3" and javelin of 178'2" at the B-W Paul "Sparky" Adams Invitational and in the hammer throw with a toss of 135'9" at the Coastal Carolina (S.C.) University Invitational. Jake finished eighth individually in the javelin at the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet.  

    As a sophomore in 2010-2011, Jake participated in his second season of outdoor track. Jake had career-best throws in the shotput with a distance of 39"9.75, and the discus at 125"11'.  He threw a season-best in the hammer throw of 147"6'. Jake also had a team-best throw in the javelin with a distance of 174"2'.

    As a junior in 2011-2012, Jake competed in his third season of track and field. He only competed in the hammer and javelin throw this spring season.  He threw a career-best 169"10' in the hammer throw at the Sparky Adams Invitational.  Jake also threw a team-best 172"1' in the javelin at the OAC Outdoor Championship when he placed second.  

    As a senior in 2012-13, Jake competed in his fourth season of outdoor track and field.  He holds the team-best record in the javelin with a distance of 178'8" and has a second-best record on the team in the hammer with a distance of 169' 8."  Jake earned four varsity letters in indoor track and field during his career at BW.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Jake Buckey grew up in Geneva, Ohio and graduated from Geneva High School. Jake played four seasons of football and earned three varsity letters.  He also earned two varsity letters in track and field and participated in wrestling, but did not letter.

In football as a senior in 2008, Jake was first team All-Northeastern Conference, first-team All-Ashtabula County and honorable mention All-District.  In track and field, he earned the team's Outstanding Thrower Award.  Jake earned the Scholar Athlete Award and was honor roll student.
