Men's Swim and Diving Teams Compete On Day One of Fredonia State Meet

FREDONIA, NEW YORK – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving competed today (Friday, November 30, 2012) in the first day of the three-day Fredonia State (N.Y.) University Blue Devil Invitational Meet in the FSU Natatorium.  The second day of competition is tomorrow and the final day is on Sunday.

The BW men scored 58 points and currently are tied for 7th of 8 teams.

The BW men were led by sophomore Bryan Gerber (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) placed fifth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:04.75. Gerber also was a part of the 800-yard freestyle relay team including freshman Steven Curry (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Wylie E. Groves), senior Matt Zych (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West), and junior Patrick Donohoe (Columbus/Bishop Watterson) finished ninth overall with a time of 7:46.47.
 
Following the FSU Invitational Meet, the BW swimmers and divers are back in action on Saturday, December 8 when they host the University of Mount Union in the BW Natatorium at 1:00 p.m. The final meet of 2012 will take place on Sunday, Dec. 16 when BW hosts Defiance College and Ursuline College in a tri-meet at 1:00 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets leave for their annual Winter Break Trip to Sarasota, Florida on January 1, 2013 and face Transylvania (Ky.) University on Jan. 5.
