BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION:   Matthew "Matt" Zych competed in his fourth and final season of swimming and diving at Baldwin Wallace University in 2012-2013. He competed in both freestyle and butterfly events and has earned four varsity letters.

GENERAL SWIMMING & DIVING INFORMATION: Matt has career-bests of 23.18 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, 50.25 seconds in the 100-yard free, 1:51.06 in the 200-yard free, 5:13.09 in the 500-yard free, 11:17.30 in the 1000-yard free, 26.78 seconds in the 50-yard butterfly, 59.92 seconds in the 100-yard fly and 2:26.16 in the 200-yard fly

As a freshman in 2009-2010, Matt competed in his first year of swimming and earned his first letter.  His bests in the 50 free (24.19 seconds), 100 free (50.93 seconds), 200 free (1:52.02), 500 free (5:13.09), 1000 free (11:17.30), 100 butterfly (1:02.86) and 200 butterfly (2:26.16).

As a sophomore in 2010-2011, Matt completed his second season of swimming and earned his second letter. He had personal bests in 50 free (23.18 seconds), 100 free (50.25 seconds), 200 free (1:51.06), 50 butterfly (28.10) and 100 butterfly (1:00.41).

As a junior in 2011-2012, Matt completed his third season of swimming and earned his third letter. He had personal bests in 50 butterfly (26.78 seconds) and 100 butterfly (59.92 seconds).

As a senior in 2012-2013, Matt is competing in his fourth year of swimming.  He earned Ohio Athletic Conference Male Swimmer of the Week honors on December 17, 2012 for his efforts in a dual match victory against Defiance College. He won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.35 seconds and the 200-yard butterfly in 2:26.43.

ACADEMIC INFORMATION:   Matt is an exercise science major.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION:   Matt Zych grew up in Des Plaines, Illinois and graduated from Maine Westy High School.  He competed in four years of swimming and earned three varsity letters.

As a senior, Matthew was a team captain and earned both All-Central Suburban League and All-Area accolades.
