BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Tony Tijerina has finished up his senior and final season at Baldwin Wallace University. Tony has been a big part of the swimming team.

ACADEMIC HONORS AT BW: Tony is a member of the BW Honor Society. As a junior in 2011-12, he was honored at the 2011-12 Student-Athlete & Faculty Recognition Luncheon for having the Highest Grade Point Average on the men’s swimming & diving team (3.66). Tony was also named a B-W Jacket Scholar and was also inducted into the National College Athlete Honor Society, Chi Alpha Sigma. As a senior in 2012-13, Tony was named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference.

GENERAL SWIMMING AND DIVING INFORMATION: Tony is off to a solid swimming and diving career thus far. Tony's personal bests throughout his first two seasons are: a score of 257.70 in the 1 Meter Optional, a 381.74 in the 1 Meter Champ, a 229.00 in the 3 Meter Optional, and a 361.20 in the 3 Meter Champ. In swimming Tony's personal bests are: a time of 22.18 in the 50-meter freestyle, a 25.91 in the 50-meter butterfly, and a 54.63 in the 100-meter butterfly.

As a freshman in 2009-10, Tony completed his first season of swimming and diving finishing third in the OAC’s in the men’s 1 meter and 3 meter diving competitions with scores of 357.60 and 358.35.

As a sophomore in 2010-11, Tony completed in his second season of diving. Tony posted career bests this season in the 1 meter optional with a score of 257.70.  Tony also established personal-best times in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 23.31 seconds, the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 26.44 seconds, and in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 55.14 seconds.

As a junior in 2011-12, Tony completed his third season of swimming and diving.  Tony posted career bests this season in the 50 meter  freestyle with a score of 22.18, the 50 meter butterfly with a score of 25.91, and in the 100 meter butterfly with a score of 54.63.

As a senior in 2012-13, Tony competed in his fourth and final season of diving and third season of swimming at BW. Tony had season-bests in the 1 meter optional (256.65), 50 meter freestyle (23.08), 100 meter freestyle (51.81), 50 meter butterfly (29.61) and the 100 meter butterfly (56.79). Tony earned his fourth varsity letter to finish off his career and Baldwin Wallace. Also, he was named Academic All-OAC.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Tony Tijerina grew up in Defiance, Ohio and graduated from Napoleon High School. Tony competed in two years of waterpolo and diving earning two varsity letters in each sport. He also competed in three years of swimming earning a varsity letter all three years.
