BW Men's Swim Team Drops OAC Opener

WILMINGTON, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving teams opened its Ohio Athletic Conference season with a loss to Wilmington College.

The Yellow Jacket men loss to the Quaker men, 119-86, and the BW women loss to the Wilmington the  women, 132-73. With its loss, the BW men are now 0-2 this season and 0-1 in the OAC.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by freshmen Steven Curry (Bloomfield Hills, Mich. / Wylie E. Groves) won the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:05.48. Along with Curry, sophomore Bryan Gerber (Sagamore Hills / Nordonia) who won the 200-meter in the individual medley with a time of 2:25.06 and freshmen Justin Allison (Napoleon) won the 50-meter freestyle in a time of 25.57.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action next Friday, November 2 when they travel to Oberlin, Ohio to swim on the first of the three-day Cleveland City Duals at Oberlin College at 7:30 p.m. The next day, Saturday, Nov. 3 is the second day of the Cleveland Duals at Oberlin at 11:00 a.m. The event concludes a week later, on Saturday, Nov. 10 when BW hosts the third and final day in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center in Berea at 1:00 p.m.
