The Men's Swimming and Diving Team Falls in Season Opener

DELAWARE, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's swimming and diving teams each opened the season tonight  with a loss against non-league foe Ohio Wesleyan University inside the Branch Rickey Center.

The Battling Bishop men defeated the Yellow Jackets, 116-88.

The Yellow Jacket men were led by sophomore Bryan Gerber (Sagamore Hills / Nordonia) who won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:03.97

Also for the men, freshman Steven Curry (Bloomfield Hills, Mich. / Wylie E. Groves) who won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.98. Along with Curry, the 200-yard freestyle relay team consisting of junior Patrick Donohoe (Columbus / Bishop Watterson), senior Nathan Brown (Columbia Station / Olmsted Falls), sophomore Ronny Woodburn (Ashtabula/ Edgewood) and freshman Paul Rockocy (North Royalton / North Royalton)  finishing with a time of 1:41.84 but OWU won in the
exhibition swim with a time of 1:30.00.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 27 when they travel to Wilmington, Ohio to open their Ohio Athletic Conference schedule against the Wilmington College Quakers in the Fred Razik Arena at 1:00 p.m.
