Complete 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Scholar All-North/Central Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Baldwin Wallace University four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and three-time Academic All-OAC senior men's soccer student-athlete Danny Ruple (Berea/Berea-Midpark) has been named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-North/Central Region first team for the first time in his career.

The 2019 season marks the first year that the United Soccer Coaches organization has recognized a Scholar All-Region team, having previously just awarded the recognition at the All-America level.

Ruple, who is now eligible for the Scholar All-America ballot, had garnered his first career USC Scholar All-America second team selection just one year ago in 2018, and will aim to land his second consecutive national accolade on December 18, when the 2019 Scholar All-America team is announced. The four-year letterwinner is also the sole Ohio Athletic Conference representation on this season's Scholar All-Region team.

A master's in accounting major, Ruple boasts an impressive 3.93 cumulative grade point average and is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

The 2019 OAC Forward of the Year led the Yellow Jackets and OAC, and was tied for 17th in all of NCAA Division III with 17 goals. He led his team, the OAC, and was 19th in the nation with 41 points. Ruple also garnered a team-high of 61 shots. His seven assists on the year were also good enough for a first-place tie for BW and a second-place tie in the OAC.

For his career, Ruple appeared in 77 career games and is the school's all-time leader in points with 146, goals with 58 and assists with 30.  He also holds the school single-season record for shots with 85, points with 45 and goals with 19.  Ruple also ranks among the all-time leaders in the OAC as he is fourth in points, seventh in goals and tied for seventh in assists.
