Ruple Becomes Men's Soccer's First United Soccer Coaches All-American

Complete 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-America Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Baldwin Wallace University four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference, three-time Academic All-OAC and three time College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American senior men's soccer forward Danny Ruple (Berea/Berea-Midpark) has been named to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Men's All-America Third Team.

Ruple, who was named CoSIDA's 2019 Academic All-American of the Year earlier in the week, claims another coveted national recognition. The four-year letterwinner's first career appearance on the United Soccer Coaches All-America team also marks the first time the feat has ever been accomplished in BW men's soccer lengthy 50-year history.

The 2019 OAC Forward of the Year led the Yellow Jackets and OAC, and was tied for 17th in all of NCAA Division III with 17 goals. He led his team, the OAC, and was 19th in the nation with 41 points. Ruple also garnered a team-high of 61 shots. His seven assists on the year was also good enough for a first-place tie for BW and a second-place tie in the OAC.

For his career, Ruple appeared in 77 career games and is the school's all-time leader in points with 146, goals with 58 and assists with 30.  He also holds the school single-season record for shots with 85, points with 45 and goals with 19.  Ruple also ranks among the all-time leaders in the OAC as he is fourth in points, seventh in goals and tied for seventh in assists.

Off the field, the master's in accounting major is as aforementioned, a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-American first team selection and three-time Academic All-OAC selection, as well as a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 first-team selection, United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America second-team selection, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar, and member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
