AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – For the first time this season and third time in his career, Baldwin Wallace University senior forward Danny Ruple (Berea/Berea-Midpark) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

The three-time All-OAC and two-time Academic All-American scored four goals this week, leading BW to a perfect 2-0 record with non-conference wins over The College of Wooster and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford (Pa.). It was also an historic week for Ruple, as he set the men's soccer program career goals record with his 47th coming in Wednesday's 2-0 win against Wooster. He then followed up that performance with a hat-trick in Saturday's 5-0 50th Anniversary Game win against Pitt-Bradford. His three-goal performance helped him become the only Yellow Jacket to ever reach the 50 career goals plateau. Ruple now leads the team with nine goals and 19 points on the year, in just a mere six games.

The Yellow Jackets will be back on the pitch Wednesday, September 18 when they travel to nearby Oberlin to take on Oberlin College on Fred Shults Field at 7:00 p.m.
