Ruple Garners Third Career United Soccer Coaches All-Region Accolade

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and three-time Academic All-OAC forward Danny Ruple (Berea/Berea-Midpark) has been selected to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-Great Lakes Region first-team for the third time in his career.

Ruple now qualifies for the United Soccer Coaches All-America Team that will be announced on Thursday, December 5 in conjunction with their respective pre-championship banquets.

The 2019 OAC Forward of the Year led BW, the OAC and was tied for 17th in Division III with 17 goals and led the team, the OAC and was 19th in the country with 41 points.   He led the squad with 61 shots and was tied for the team lead with seven assists. 

For his career, Ruple appeared in 77 career games and is the school's all-time leader in points with 146, goals with 58 and assists with 30.   He also holds the school single-season record for shots with 85, points with 45 and goals with 19.   Ruple also ranks among the all-time leaders in the OAC as he is fourth in points, seventh in goals and tied for seventh in assists.  He was a four-year letterwinner.

Off the field, the accounting major is two-time College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American first-team selection, a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 first-team selection, a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America second-team selection, a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
