Men’s Soccer Comes Up Short Up Against Otterbein

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team fell to Otterbein University in an Ohio Athletic Conference game by a final score of 2-1 on the Tressel Field inside The George Finnie Stadium.

In the first half, Otterbein (8-4, 2-1 OAC) opened the scoring when sophomore forward Paul Hensley buried a shot from 25-yards out to upper left corner off the assist from sophomore defender Zach Lantzy at the 2:25 mark.   BW (8-6, 1-2 OAC) tied things up at 1-1 when freshman defender Zach Hoover (Chagrin Falls) scored his first collegiate goal when he blasted a shot that bounced off an Otterbein defender and rolled into the net at 4:12.

After 20 minutes of scoreless action to open the second half, Otterbein won the game when freshman forward Gabriel Sharrock fired a liner into the back of the net at the 75:28 mark.

In net for the Yellow Jackets, senior netminder Patrick Mehal (Richfield/Revere) took the loss as he faced 11 shots and recorded nine saves.

BW is back in action on Wednesday, October 16 when it travels to Tiffin for an OAC game against Heidelberg University at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex at 4 p.m.
