Baldwin-Wallace College Senior Andrew Bene Named OAC Player of the Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College 6'6" senior center Andrew Bene (Hinckley/Medina Highland) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Bene averaged 19 points and 11.5 rebounds-per-game during the Yellow Jackets' meetings with Heidelberg University and Wilmington College this past week. At Heidelberg on Wednesday, February 4, Bene scored a game-high 21 points and matched a season-best with 14 rebounds. He also totaled two blocked shots and three steals.

Versus Wilmington on Saturday, Feb. 7, he led all players with 17 points and nine boards as the Jackets upset the second-place Quakers.

For the season, Bene leads the team in scoring at 16.5 ppg. and the OAC at 9.9 rpg. The Yellow Jackets will look for their second straight win on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at home versus Otterbein College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
