Sarris Earns Second Career OAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week Honor

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior placekicker Dean Sarris (Canton/GlenOak) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time in his career.

Sarris garners his second accolade after hitting two field goals, including a game-winning 29-yarder in BW's 20-10 victory over No. 22 nationally-ranked Heidelberg University in the Yellow Jackets' home opener last Saturday.  Sarris hit a 35-yard field goal in the second quarter to give BW a 10-3 lead.  He then hit the 29-yarder with 12:40 left in the fourth quarter to give the Yellow Jackets the lead that they never relinquished.  Sarris accounted for two extra points and five kickoffs for 279 yards with one touchback.

For his career, Sarris has appeared in 16 games and has converted 11-of-17 field goals with a Finnie Stadium-record 49 yards.  He also made 55-of-58 extra points and has scored 88 points.  Sarris was the BW Most Valuable Special Teams Player Award recipient as a freshman.
