Football Adds Four to 2021 Fall Staff

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Head Football Coach Jim Hilvert has announced the additions of Jay Gaudlock, Nyck Grayson, Josh Ranc and Liam McIlwee to his staff for the 2021 fall season.

Gaudlock will serve as the running backs coach.  He comes to BW after a successful career as a wide receiver at NAIA Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College.  Gaudlock was a four-year letterwinner that caught 156 passes for 2021 yards and 21 touchdowns in 48 career games.  He was the Mid-South Conference West Division Offensive Freshman of the Year.  Gaudlock earned a Bachelor of Arts in recreation, tourism, and sport management

Grayson will serve as an assistant defensive line coach.  He currently is a scouting assistant at All-22 Global Scouting Agency.  Prior to All-22, Grayson was a recruiting assistant at Colorado Mesa University.  He earned a bachelor's degree from Kent State University in 2021.  Grayson was a football letterwinner for Yellow Jacket football alumnus Jeff Fox '04 at Nordonia High School. 

Ranc, who will work with the tight ends, returns to BW after serving as an assistant wide receivers coach with the Yellow Jackets during the 2021 spring season.  Prior to BW, he has served as an outside linebackers coach and junior varsity defensive coordinator at North Ridgeville High School in the fall of 2020.   In addition, Ranc served as an assistant wide receivers coach at Rocky River High School from 2018-19 and as the head middle school coach in 2019. 

McIlwee, who is a 2021 graduate of St. Edward High School, enters his first season as an equipment intern.  During his time at St. Edwards, he served as a basketball and football manager.  McIlwee was part of the Eagles Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I State Championship teams in 2015 and 2018.  He graduated from St. Edward with High honors.

The Yellow Jackets open the 2021 fall campaign on Saturday, September 4 for their lone non-conference game against Hampden-Sydney (Va.) College.  OAC action is slated to begin with back-to-back road contests against Otterbein University on September 11 and Mount Union on September 18 at 1:30 p.m.  The home opener is scheduled for Saturday, September 25 against Heidelberg University at 1:30 p.m.   The season closes out with the 33rd annual Battle for the Cuyahoga Gold Bowl Trophy against John Carroll University at 1 p.m.
