Baseball Garners ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

GREENSBORO, N.C.  – The Baldwin Wallace University baseball team has earned the Sports Attack American Baseball Coaches Association Team Excellence Award.

To be honored, a team must have met the following criteria:

  • Must be a collegiate baseball team
  • Head Coach must be a current member of the ABCA
  • Team must have had a 3.00 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the 2023-24 academic year.

BW, who was one of 470 teams from all levels of collegiate baseball to be honored, carried a 3.240 grade point average.  The Yellow Jackets were one of 181 NCAA Division III teams and one of four Ohio Athletic Conference members to be recognized.

BW finished the 2024 campaign with an overall record of 36-10 and an OAC mark of 15-3.   The Yellow Jackets claimed the OAC regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Division III regional tournament.
