Women's Indoor Track and Field Team Participates at ONU Last Chance Meet

ADA, Ohio – Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed at the ONU Last Chance Meet hosted by the Ohio Northern University in the ONU Sports Center. The meet is considered a last chance meet for the BW individuals to improve upon or hit the qualifying marks for the NCAA Division III National Championships.

BW was led by senior All-OAC jumper Erin Kasper (Amherst/Marion Steele) and freshman All-OAC distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) as they each won their respective events. Kasper won the high jump event with a leap of 5 feet 5 inches. Kasper currently sits tied for 15th in the country with her leap of 5'6.5'' at the Division III All-Ohio Championships. Brennan won the 800-meter run with a career-best finish of 2:15.16.  

In the shot put event, senior thrower Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/Western Reserve) placed fourth, freshman Brooke Buckhannon (Collins/Western Reserve) and freshman thrower Jillian Roberts (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) earned a seventh place finish. Clouse hit a mark of 41'3.5'', Buckhannon had a throw of 39'5.25'' and Roberts recorded a toss of 39'0.25''. Clouse also finished eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 49'10.5''.

In the sprinters events, senior sprinter and hurdler Lyndsey Armstrong (Ashtabula/Geneva) and sophomore sprinter Grace Nemeth (Medina) each earned fourth place finishes in their respective events. Armstrong finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a tie of 9.53 seconds. Nemeth placed fourth in the 60-meter dash with a finishes of 8.18 seconds in the prelims and 8.33 seconds in the finals.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday and Saturday March 10 and 11 when they travel to Naperville, Illinois for the NCAA Indoor Championships hosted by North Central (Ill.) College on the Al B. Carius Track.
