Women's Indoor Track and Field Fifth After First Day of OAC Championships

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team stands fifth after the first day of competition at the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.

BW is fifth of 10 teams with 26 points.  Otterbein University leads after the first day with 44 points.

The top three individuals and the top three relay teams earn All-OAC honors.

The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) as she earned her first career All-OAC indoor accolade and was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter run with a career-best time of 10:21.15.

In addition, freshman distance runner Bella Pendola (Warsaw/River View) was fourth in the 3,000-meter run in a career-best time of 10:33.99. Senior All-OAC thrower Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/Western Reserve) finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 41 feet and 10 inches.  Junior All-American jumper Erin Kasper (Amherst/Marion Steele) was fifth in the long jump with a mark of 16' 8.75".

In relay action, the distance medley team of freshmen Katie Fowler (Mount Vernon), Annie Quisno (Port Clinton/Oak Harbor), Hannah Nagy (Belmont/Linsly) and Claire Makowski (Bethel Park, Pa.) placed seventh in a time of 13:37.46.

BW is back in action for the second and final day of competition of the OAC Championships on the Dillard Track at 10 a.m.
