Women's Indoor Track and Field Finishes Sixth at All-Ohio Championships

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field teams finished sixth at the All-Ohio Division III Indoor Championships hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center.

The Yellow Jackets finished sixth of 17 teams with 52 points. The University of Mount Union won with 174.5 points. The top three individuals in each event and the top three-relay team earn All-Ohio honors.

The women were led by senior All-American jumper Erin Kasper (Amherst/Marion Steele), freshman distance runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) and senior All-OAC thrower Kasey Clouse (Norwalk/Western Reserve) as they each earned multiple top-10 finishes.  Kasper finished third in the high jump with a career-best tying mark of 5 feet 6.5 inches, sixth in the long jump with a leap of 17'2'' and ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 32'11.75''. Brennan placed second in the 800-meter run and fourth in the mile. Brennan recorded career-best times of 2:19.82 in the 800-meter run and 5:11.52 in the mile. Clouse placed second with a career-best toss of 43'5.75'' in the shot put and sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 50'5.5''.

In addition, senior hurdler Lyndsey Armstrong (Ashtabula/Geneva), freshman distance runner Bella Pendola (Warsaw/River View) and sophomore sprinter Grace Nemeth (Medina). Armstrong placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a career-best finish of 9.3 seconds. Pendola finished third in the 5,000-meter run with a career-best time of 18:31.45. Nemeth earned a fifth place finish in the 200-meter dash with a career-best time of 26.36 seconds.

BW is back in action on Friday, February 17 when it hosts the Greater Cleveland Championships on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center. Field events begin at 4 p.m. and running events start at 5:30 p.m. with the 55-meter dash and 55-meter hurdles prelims.
