Sonya Ming Bianco '88 graduated from BW in 1988 and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998.

When Bianco graduated from B-W, she not only took her degree with her but two national championships and 40 indoor and outdoor OAC individual and relay titles as well. She was the Division III national champion in high jump in 1987 and, in only her second attempt at the heptathlon, she scored 4,776 points, the fourth-highest score in Division III history and the winning score in the 1988 national championship. She set school records for the heptathlon, high jump, long jump, triple jump, 200-meter dash, and 800-meter run. Her heptathlon and triple jump school records still stand.

Bianco received the Paul "Sparky" Adams Memorial Track Scholarship, and was named the Outstanding Senior Woman Athlete in 1988. In 1987 and 1988 she was named OAC Meet Outstanding Runner, and Outstanding Field Event performer. For her accomplishments, she was mentioned in both Sports Illustrated and USA Today.

Currently Bianco is an instructional technology assistant at Austin Community College in Texas where she lives with her husband John, '88, and their daughter Haley.
