Hannah Purdy Budic '02 graduated from BW in 2002 and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.

Hannah Purdy Budic is the finest distance runner in BW cross country history. The 2002 Most Outstanding Senior Female Athlete is still the only female in OAC history to be named as the Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Year three times and was a Verizon Academic All-American in 2001-2002. Purdy won three OAC individual titles (1999-2001) and two All-Ohio crowns (2000 and 2001) and led the Yellow Jackets to three straight OAC titles (1999-2001). She advanced to the Division III National Championship Meet three times and placed 66th in 1999, 39th in 2000 and 77th in 2001.

In track, Purdy was the 2002 Julie Zajac OAC Most Outstanding Track Athlete Award winner and a seven-time All-OAC performer indoors, including winning the 3200-meter title in 2000. Outdoors, she was All-OAC a school-record 11 times. In the classroom, she was a member of the Alpha Lambda, Dayton C. Miller and numerous other academic honor societies, and three times earned both Academic All-OAC and Verizon Academic All-District honors.

Today, she is concentrating on her family and writing children’s books.
