Joel Nichols hit .383 for his career with 19 homers and 103 runs batted-in (RBIs.). The Hartville, Ohio native had his best two seasons in his final two years on the diamond when he hit .430 and .442 in in 1995 and 1996. He also added 18 home runs, 74 RBIs and had a .774 slugging average.  Nichols was an All-Ohio Athleic Conference first-team selection, American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-Mideast Region second-team selection.  He won the Yellow Jacket, the Most Outstanding Hitter and Most Vaulable Player awards.  Today, Nichols is a teacher in the Cardington School District and was an assistant baseball and football coach for 20 years.  He previously completed an eight-year career in the U.S. Army Reserves.   Nichols resides in Hartville.
