Rae Heisner-Alexander '77 graduated from BW in 1977 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1994.

Heisner-Alexander was a pioneer on the women's track program at Baldwin-Wallace College. Heisner-Alexander also competed in volleyball and basketball. Rae joins her husband, Don '77, in the Hall of Fame.

Heisner-Alexander, a native of East Cleveland, started the women's track program in 1976 when she began to compete against other OAC schools as an individual performer. Heisner-Alexander was Baldwin-Wallace's first OAC track champion (in the 880-yard run) and won numerous OAC crowns and held several school records. Heisner-Alexander's participation in track spurred interest from other B-W students and encouraged the administration to support a women's cross country and track and field program. For her efforts, both in academics and athletics, Heisner-Alexander was awarded the Myrta Stover Award as he outstanding physical education student in 1977.

In addition to excelling in athletics, Heisner-Alexander graduated magna cum laude, was a White Rose participant and a member of the Omnicron Delta Kappa national honorary.

Since graduation in 1977, Heisner-Alexander has built one of the finest high school programs in the state of Ohio at local Olmsted Falls High School. At O.F.H.S., Heisner-Alexander is the men's and women's cross country head coach and assistant coach for the men's and women's track.

In cross country, Heisner-Alexander had led her women's squad to either the Ohio state title or had an individual win a state crown every year with the exception of her 1983 team which earned runnerup honors.

In addition to teaching and coaching, Heisner-Alexander competes in road races, is a member of the Cleveland West Road Runners Club and coaches marathon runners independently. Heisner-Alexander also was Vice President of the Strongsville Co-op Preschool Governing Board.

Heisner-Alexander had four children and resides in Strongsville.
