Jody Crawford '95, a native of Massillon, Ohio and a graduate of Jackson High School, was an outstanding multi-event track performer and one of the best female high jumpers in BW and Ohio Athletic Conference history.

Crawford, who also played one season of volleyball, ran both indoor and outdoor track for four years and earned four letters. She was an NCAA Division III All-American high jumper, a six-time national qualifier, six-time OAC champion in the high jump, the OAC Most Outstanding Field Event Athlete at the 1994 OAC Championship Meet and BW's Most Valuable Jumper in 1993, 1994 and 1995. Crawford still owns the school outdoor high jump record at five-feet and seven and one-half inches (5'7.5").

Crawford also was an outstanding middle distance sprinter and a key member of four OAC-champion relay teams, two each in the 4x400 and 4x800-meter relay events. Individually in the 500-meter dash, she placed at the OAC Indoor Championship Meet three times (1993-95) and twice at the OAC Outdoor Meet (1993 and 1995). Crawford also was involved on campus and was an Academic All-OAC student-athlete in track.

In addition to her track exploits, the speech and communication major was the President of the BW Broadcast Board, was a member of the staff at campus radio station WBWC, a member of the BW Racquetball team and on the staff at the Exponent.

Following graduation, Crawford served as an assistant coach for Bill Taraschke's track program from 1996 through 2003 and coached a pair of Division III All-American high jumpers.
