Larry S. Coy '77 graduated from BW in 1977 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 1990.
Larry Coy is a 1977 graduate of Baldwin Wallace College. He was one of B-W's most outstanding distance runners in cross country and track and a six-time All-American.
Coy, a 1973 graduate of Cleveland John Marshall High School, was a member of the cross country team that won the Ohio Class AAA state championship.
A psychology major at B-W, Coy lettered eight times in track and cross country. He still holds two track records and lowered the B-W school-record for the five-mile run five times. He still holds the current five-mile standard of 24:33. He was a two time cross country All-American and set three course records during his senior year, including the Ohio Athletic Conference championship mark.
As a member of the track team, Coy was a four-time All-American. As a senior in 1977, Coy won four OAC individual titles and was the OAC's Most Outstanding Runner both indoors and outdoors.
As a senior, Larry was awarded the Kenneth F. Steingrass Award as the Outstanding Senior Male Athlete at B-W.
After graduation, Larry began working for the United Parcel Service until 1982 when he joined the Navy. Coy was a F-14 Fighter Pilot.
Coy and his wife, Mary Ann, have two children: Crystal and Joshua.
