Erik Young '89 graduated from BW in 1989 and was inducted into the Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2005.
Young was both a baseball and football standout as an undergraduate. A four year letterman he was the starting quarterback his senior year when he was named first-team All OAC. He also received honorable mention from Football News, Division III and the Associated Press Little-All America teams.
An outstanding baseball outfielder, Young still holds B-W records for most times at bat, most hits, runs, triples and most walks. The two-time, first team, All-OAC, All-District IV and first team Academic All-American, was drafted by the Cleveland Indians and played for the Watertown Indians. That year he was one of five players in that league to have a five for five-hit game. The following year, he attended the Indians minor league spring training camp, before being released.
Currently he lives in Chicago where he is a senior account manager-Midwest for Novelis Corporation. He also is a volunteer coach for youth sports programs.
