WESTERVILLE, OHIO -- The defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion Baldwin-Wallace College women's tennis team lost its 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference regular season opener to host Otterbein University, 6-3, today (Saturday, March 24, 2012) in Westerville.

With its loss, B-W is now 4-9 overall and 0-1 in the OAC. Otterbein improved to 4-7 overall and 1-0 in the OAC.

Otterbein gained a 2-1 lead in doubles and then won four of six singles matches to claim its fourth victory of the season. 

In singles action, sophomore number three player Morgan Baker (Elyria/ Elyria Catholic) won by the scores of 7-5, 2-6 and 6-1, and junior No.4 player Danielle Rueger (Ashland) won by the scores of 6-2 and 6-2.

In doubles play, the No.3 duo of Rueger and senior Emily Brown (Vermilion) won by the score of 8-5. 

The Yellow Jackets return to Berea and play their first home match on Saturday, March 31 when they host OAC-rival Muskingum University on the "Pop" Collins Courts at 1:00 p.m.
