BEREA, OHIO -- The defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion Baldwin-Wallace College women's tennis team lost to Ohio Athletic Conference and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University, 8-1, today, (Wednesday, April 25, 2012) at the "Pop" Collins Courts.

With its loss, B-W is now 8-13 overall and 3-4 in the OAC and ends its regular season this Saturday, April 28 with a home Seniors' Day match against Marietta College at 11:00 a.m. The 2012 OAC Tournament begins next Tuesday, May 1 against an opponent to be determined. With its win, JCU is 10-3 overall and 5-1 in the OAC.

JCU gained a 3-0 lead after the doubles competition and won five of six singles matches to claim the win.

In singles play, junior number four player Danielle Rueger (Ashland) was the lone victor for the Yellow Jackets as she defeated Erin Davies of the Blue Streaks by the scores of 7-6 (7-3), 4-6 and 1-0 (10-6)
